Farm My School Colac

Colac Secondary College

Growing Food, Knowledge and Community

What is Farm My School?

Farm My School transforms underutilised school grounds into thriving regenerative farms.

These living classrooms grow food, teach sustainability, and reconnect communities to soil.

Our first school farm began at Bellarine Secondary College. Now, Colac joins the movement—proof that this model can be replicated across Victoria and beyond.

Why Colac?

Colac is known for its strong community, farming heritage, and passion for education. By creating a second farm at Colac Secondary College, we’re showing how food, health, and learning can grow side by side.

What is the plan at Colac?

In partnership with VicHealth, Colac Secondary College, Colac Otway Shire, and Colac Area Health, we will:

  • Transform underutilised land into a productive school farm.
  • Build 3.4km linear of garden beds, composting areas, and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Create a hub where students, teachers, and the wider community can connect with food and farming.

What is the timeline?

Build a Farm in a Day, Colac
Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd November

Over 24 hours, students, teachers, volunteers, and community members will come together to build the farm in just 48 hours.

More Than Farming

Farm My School is more than a farm. It’s a movement for healthier people, healthier communities and a healthier planet.

Help us grow the future of food and education in Colac.

“Farm My School students are learning life skills, and they are not only our future farmers and horticulturists – they are our future of everything! I like to imagine a future when everyone has an education grounded in the garden.” – Costa Georgiadis
